Basketball Passing (continued)

Accurate basketball passing is one way for basketball players to rack up the points during a game. If you want to be a star on the court and popular with your teammates, practice basketball passing. Following are some helpful tips on how to improve your ball handling skills.

So you think basketball passing is easy? It might seem as simple as tossing the ball to a pal and moving on down the court. Well, there's more to basketball passing than that.

First of all, there are five passing routes in basketball passing: - passing the ball over your opponent's head - passing to the left side or right side of the opposing player's head - a lower pass in the area to the side of your challenger's right or left leg.

If you are a guard being challenged by the opposition, you can use a fake pass to throw them off. Once your challenger is distracted, you have room to make the real pass.

If there is no opponent blocking the way, the Chest Pass is frequently used to move the ball to a teammate. Be prepared by keeping your arms higher up so you don't have to raise them in order to complete the pass.

When the defender is on you, try the Two-handed Overhead Pass. You can use this pass in the way of a Post Pass, a Skip Pass or an Outlet Pass, just keep it a bit above your receiver's head.

If the situation warrants, you may want to use the Push Pass. This pass is done using only one hand, so you don't want to use it when you're surrounded by defenders. It is also important to start this pass at ear level and follow through from your elbow when "pushing" the ball through to your teammate.

When time is running out and you don't need a basketball pass that doesn't have to travel very far, the Baseball Pass is helpful.

Basketball passing is one of the most important aspects when facing off against your challengers on the court. If you can pass the ball effectively, you will be able to score more often.
